About our cycling holidays in France
On our cycling holidays you stay with us for the whole week, so you can relax, unpack and unwind from the moment you arrive, while we take care of all the planning and organisation.
Lot Cycling Holidays is situated in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of France. The Lot is one of the largest and least populated departments and so offers you an immediate escape to peaceful surroundings and quiet, virtually traffic-free roads that are a pleasure to cycle.
We are nestled between the Lot and Dordogne rivers and the surrounding quiet and peaceful countryside is steeped in ancient and medieval history that you can witness at every turn; in quaint 12th century bastide towns, interesting cave houses carved into the rocks and magnificent hilltop chateaux.
From lush river valley to gently rolling countryside, to shady green forest and rocky limestone causse, our carefully planned cycle routes are designed to let you get close to the real France and experience the leisurely pace of French country life.
Bikes and Support:
We supply you with a high quality Giant touring bike with 27 gears and equipped with everything you need for a trouble - free cycling holiday - clip-on handlebar bag, water bottle, pump and lock. A spare inner tube and basic tools are also provided – although we will always be nearby in the backup bus to do any necessary repairs.
We spend time on your first day making sure you are allocated a bike that fits you well - we have a choice of sizes and saddles - so that you will be comfortable throughout your cycling holiday
We give you extremely detailed maps and notes, as well as an introductory talk to the day's tour each morning, so that you can easily follow and enjoy the routes.
We support you throughout the tour in our backup bus to check that everything is ok and sort out any problems. And of course you can always jump on board if you want a break from cycling or a liftback to base! .
Please note that helmets are not compulsory in France and we don't supply them, so if you definitely prefer to wear one you will need to bring your own.
